Attention! At the weekend time change
This weekend, March 27 in the morning, the clock will be set from the hour. 2.00 to 3.00. And that means we'll be sleeping again for an hour or so.
Certainly many of you twice a year during the change of time (especially when it turns out we have to sleep shorter) is wondering who made up the story, why and if it makes sense to set watches. We explain.
Why do we change time?
With a prosaic cause. To make better use of daylight and save energy. The pioneers of change of time were Germany, who first introduced the clock during World War I, specifically April 30, 1916. In Poland, the change of time was in force during the interwar period. After the war, it was different, but since 1983 Poles have been switching watches twice a year. Time is changing not only in Poland. Time shift is used in 79 countries. In Europe, the only exception is Iceland, and in the world, among others. Japan.
Is time change needed?
In this case the sentences are divided. As the research shows, changing time (up to an hour!) Negatively affects the functioning of our biological clock. We usually need a few days to adjust to the new operating hours. We have worse humor, we are less effective and ... more susceptible to infarct. It turned out that when changing the time from winter to summer the rate of infarctions increases by 5%.
Do we change the time of the smartphone?
Once time change was a problem, because you had to submit manually. Fortunately today is easier. We do not need to keep this in mind as the time changes automatically on smartphones and other devices with Android-based mobile operating systems. If we have a phone connected to the internet (and probably 99% of us), we do not have to think about changing the watch. The phone will do it for us.
How to prepare to change the time?
Here the rule is very simple. A few days before the watches are set, we begin to lie down and get up a little earlier. Every day a dozen minutes. In this way we painlessly adjust to the new time and we will be able to "enter" in the summer time with good humor.
